AUSTIN, TEXAS — Democratic leaders across Texas united over the weekend to expose how Republicans have sold out working families to wealthy special interests, while presenting their vision to invest in Texas communities.
In a coordinated series of press conferences in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, and Houston, Democratic legislators detailed their commitment to investing in Texas families while highlighting how decades of Republican control has left Texans paying more and getting less.
"In this legislative session, House Democrats are united and committed to fighting for what Texans need," said Texas House Democratic Caucus Chair Gene Wu. "We're fighting to invest in your schools, your healthcare, your neighborhoods – not in lining the pockets of billionaire donors at the expense of Texans. While Republicans have spent the last 30 years in power creating problems for Texans, Democrats are ready to invest in solutions.”
