In her response, Rep. Pleșa highlighted the growing challenges facing Texas families, from soaring grocery bills and property taxes to healthcare access and educational outcomes. She highlighted data showing Texas's devastating 56% maternal mortality increase, how our state has fallen behind educationally, and shared House Democrats’ plans to make Texas stronger, healthier, and safer than ever before.
**“Believe your eyes. Believe your bills. It's a crisis,” **said Rep. Pleșa. “But folks, it doesn't have to be that way. We live in Texas - the 8th largest economy in the world and we just started the 89th legislative session with a $30 Billion surplus. The data and dollars show us that we can build something better together.”
In her response, Rep. Pleșa called on Republican leadership to “stop lying, start listening, and come to the table to work for all Texans, not just some.”
